1958-Michael Joseph Jackson is born Gary, Indiana.

1962-At age four, Micahel Jackson joins brothers Marlon Tito Jackie and Jermaine in their family group the Jackson 5.Michael Jackson's father Joe, a steel mill crane operator, dremed of becoming a blues musician. when it became clear his plains were going nowhere he transferre his attentions to his childern. in 1962 younger boys Michael and marlon joined Jackie Tito and Jermaine in the Jackson 5. the group quickly gained a reputation winning talent competitions across the united states.

1968-10-year-old Michael and his brothers sign contrct with Motown records after auditioning for lable boss berry Gordy.

1969-Jackson Five achieve first US number one single with "I Want You Back."

1970-ABC tops the US charts I Want You Back reaches number two in the UK.

1971-Releases firts solo single"Got To Be There."

1972-First solo US number one single with "Ben" a song from a sentimental film about a pet rat.

1978-Makes big screen debut as a scarecrow in fantasy movie the Wiz.

1979-Releases first solo album. Off the wall.

1980-Wins grammy award for best vocal performance with "Don't Stop Till You Get Emough."

1981-One Day In Your Life becomes Michael Jackson's first UK number one single.

1982-Releases second album Thriller duets with Paul McCartney on "The Girl Is Mine".

1983-MJ has massive hits with "Billie Jean" and "Beat It".

1985-MJ co-writes US charity single "WE Are The World".

1984-Stories about bizarre lifestyle begin to circulate.Reunites with brothers for the Victory Tour.

1987-MJ releases his third album, Bad.

1988-MJ releases autobiography "MoonWalker".

1990-Thriller is certified 21 times platinum making it the world's biggest selling album of all time.

1991-MJ's fourth solo album Dangerous is released.

1992-TV interview with oprah winfrey. In an effort to dispel some of the bizarre rumors surrounding his personal life Jackson invites Oprah Winfrey to his NeverLand Ranch. In an hour-long interview he speaks of the abuse he suffered as a child at the hands of his father and the health condition, which he says he caused his skin to lighten. in June, Jackson launches his Dangerous world tour.

1993-Jackson's squeaky-clean image is dealt a severe blow when the family of 11-year-old Jordy Chandler accuses Jackson of abusing the boy at his NeverLand Ranch. police raid NeverLand while the singer is on tour in the far East. the tour ends prematurely with Jackson canceling a number of dates blaming dehydration.

1994-Settles child abuse cause out of court marries Lisa Marie Presley.

2002-Third child Prince Michael 11 born to a mystery mother

2003-Arrested on child abuse charges. releases Number Ones compilation

2005-The people VS. Michael Jackson trial lasted in a sanata monica courtroom for five months, untill the end of may 2005, he was acquitted on all counts.

2006-Reports of financial problems for Jackson became frequent in 2006 after the closure of the main house on the NeverLand Ranch as a cost-cutting measure.

2008-Top celebrate the 25th anniversary of Thriller, Jackson issues Thriller 25, comprised of original material from the album, re-mixes, the previously unreleased song " For All Time" and a DVD.

2009-Prior to his death on june 25, 2009, jackson had been scheduled to perform 50 sold-out concerts to over one million people, at London's 02 arena.
